Minegishi Shihan, 7th Dan

This year we are privileged to have Mutsuko Minegishi Shihan, 7th Dan, as a guest instructor. Minegishi Sensei is the highest graded female Aikidoka in the Aikikai world wide and although now living on the island of Guam has had experience living and teaching around the world.

Minegishi Sensei has run dojos in the USA for 8 years when she was a Fulbright Exchange Lecturer to teach Japanese language at Smith and Amherst Colleges, Massachusetts. More recently she has been running dojos around the Pacific area.

She registered at the Aikikai Foundation 45 years ago in 1972 and since then she has been continuously training and teaching with total devotion and dedication. She trained under the second generation Kisshomaru Ueshiba Doshu, son of the Founder, and his grandson, current Moriteru Ueshiba Doshu, Koichi Tohei, the Founder of the Ki Society, and every highest ranking instructor at the Hombu Dojo. Her style is the mixture of all of these instructors and it accommodates the needs for a variety of students.
